Cookie Policy

What CalcBrick stores in your browser and how to manage unit preferences, saved estimates, login cookies and advertising choices.

Last updated: October 14, 2026

1. Cookies and local storage

Cookies are small records a browser may send with website requests. Local storage holds data in your browser without automatically sending it to the server. Both can remember settings; neither is a cloud account. This inventory describes application storage, not an exhaustive inventory of every hosting or advertising provider.

2. Application storage inventory

Name / typePurposeDuration
buildcalc-unit
Local storage
Metric or imperial unit preference; functional storage.Until overwritten or browser site data is cleared.
buildcalc-results
Local storage
Results saved when you select “Save result”; most recent 25, stored only in this browser.Until overwritten or cleared. Not cloud-synchronized.
buildcalc_admin
First-party cookie
Signed authentication for authorized administrators; not required for public calculators.Eight hours; removed on logout.

The legacy storage prefix is retained to preserve existing preferences; it does not identify a different operator.

3. Advertising technologies

If advertising is enabled, Google and participating providers may use cookies and identifiers for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, depending on settings and consent, personalization. Names and lifetimes depend on provider configuration. Review available vendor disclosures in the applicable consent message.

Read our advertising disclosures, Google cookie information and Google advertising choices. A generic notice or this policy alone is not valid consent.

4. Managing your choices

  • Clear CalcBrick site data through your browser to remove cookies and local storage. This can reset units and erase saved results.
  • Blocking the administrator cookie prevents restricted login but does not prevent public calculator use.
  • Where a consent platform is provided, use its privacy-options controls to review purposes and vendors, reject optional storage and withdraw consent.
  • Advertising opt-outs apply only to participating vendors and the relevant browser or account; they do not necessarily remove all ads.

Where legally required, optional storage must be handled through an appropriate consent mechanism. Continuing to browse is not consent to optional advertising cookies.

5. Contact and updates

We update this policy when storage practices change. The latest revision date is shown above.

For privacy requests, corrections or policy questions, contact the CalcBrick website operator through our contact page. Identify the relevant request or page and do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary sensitive information.
